Extra Space Storage - 8307 - Cathedral City - Cathedral Canyon Dr

This facility/business is only interested in taking your money. The introduction monthly rate is low BUT the increase climbs fast. There was a flood that ruined my personal effects and these items are irreplaceable. They are sentimental pieces and the insurance that they offer wouldn't reimburse me for those ruined items. Example: insurance cannot replace family heirlooms, photos, artwork. I had to go through the entire inventory to see what was ruined and then had to move to a new location. My time was not reimbursed, they did not supply a dumpster to help with cleaning out the space. Everything that had to be trashed I had to haul off the property. That insurance that you are forced to buy (monthly) is through Extra Storage. If you value your personal items DO NOT store them here. In conversation with the employee, she made the mistake by saying that I was in the flood zone. Flood Zone??? Based on that statement it sounds like there might be a history of flooding. The other perplexing thing is they re-rented my old space a month later without any changes to prevent further flooding. $88 was rent $16 for insurance ($104/mo) 6 months later $168 rent $16 insurance ($184/mo).
