This used to be nicely run but was taken over by awful people. There was a fire in our unit in December and the fire department had to break the lock to put it out. They told us they secured it. Then they gave us the run around when we tried to meet with them to put on a new lock. It wasn't until APRIL that we got someone to meet with us to get a new lock on. And they informed us that our unit had been ROBBED in January! The owner, Justin Egerer who also owns Sandpiper Property management was totally unresponsive! I called the police department and found there was a police report filed in January about the robbery. Justin did not provide any information whatsoever and no access to security camera footage, etc. We lost so many sentimental items including my husband's entire childhood baseball collection as well as many valuable items like camera equipment, snow board boots, etc. The worst was that my great-grandmother's childhood doll was stolen. It was supposed to be given to my girls. Because we didn't find out till months afterwards there is little chance these will ever be recovered and we have received no communication and no financial restoration from Justin Egerer, the owner (who also has two little girls and is a graduate of Westmont College—you would think he could empathize with the loss we experienced and care about doing the right thing). Never EVER do business with this man or store anything you care about at Honor Storage. We're devastated not just by the theft, but by the complete negligence of the owner in handling this. The photos attached to this review are of the day my daughters were given the doll that was stolen from Honor Storage that was in my family for 5 generations until January 2023 when it was stolen. The black and white photo is of my great-grandmother, who had the doll originally as a child.

Avoid this place at all costs. It should be called Dis-honor storage. It was OK when it was bond but the new owners are terrible. They are the same owners of Sandpiper property management and just read some of those reviews, wow. The place is not secure at all so if you value what you are storing this is NOT the place for you. You have been warned!!!

Storing goods at Honor's warehouse on Calle Cesar Chavez in Santa Barbara turned into a disaster. More than two weeks after the January 9, 2023 storm they e-mailed me asking that I come in to assess damage to my unit. When a family member arrived at their facility there was still water in the unit, and I ended up losing thousands of dollars' worth of personal items. According to their management, they considered evacuating their warehouse and transporting the units (movable wooden crates) to an alternative site before the storm hit. Unfortunately, they decided not to pursue this option. They also did not contact me (nor I presume other customers) before the storm to alert us to their concerns about the integrity of their storage site. Had they done so we could have moved items out ourselves. Very disappointing. It turns out that Honor's warehouse at this location lies in a high-risk flood area (Zone 'A' or Special Flood Hazard Area, according to FEMA's classification, effective 2018). Wish I had know that beforehand. Also, the 'customer goods protection plan' that I paid them for did not cover flood damage. This business is apparently a sister concern of Movegreen. I will definitely avoid patronizing any business connected to this group.

The name of this business is the opposite of how they do business. On the scheduled moving date, they never showed up for it. I called multiple times and followed up with them before the move-in date but never got a response. I found myself finding last-minute storage. Luckily, I found one at a reasonable price. I will never consider doing business with a business with a poor work ethic like this one.

Worst storage facility ever, stay far away! They were robbed and never told us until we noticed our belongings were missing. The owner was completely unresponsive when we asked for video footage, etc. It’s unlikely we’ll ever recover the items that were stolen, because it was months afterwards that we found out about the robbery. Items stolen included my husband’s baseball card collection from when he was a little kid and my great-grandmother’s doll that was passed on to my girls by my grandmother. The owner, Justin Egerer and his family should be ashamed of the way they handled this. :(
