I was impressed by how quick and efficient the process was in choosing my storage space. I needed a storage unit very quickly and was able to complete the entire process in one day. The person assisting me at the storage location was very helpful and friendly.
Since the day South Point changed to US Storage Centers, it's been an awful place. It especially plummeted when Colleen left, the live in/on site manager for years. I had a 10 × 10 inside unit and my partner had a 5 ×10 inside unit. I've been storing with South Point since 2018. Within a couple months of the on site changes that US Storage Center implemented, both our units were infested with rats, mice and wool moths/larve of some sorts that destroyed much of our belongings. The rodents chewed through plastic bins, they nested, pissed everywhere (see photos! There's smelly rat pee visable), they even chewed off a lid from a hydrogen peroxide bottle and tincture bottle (see pic). They brought in larve that ate away at fibers, nothing was safe. The solution offered at the time was to have me move into a unit in a different building that they said had no rats/mice. They offered me a credit of 3 months rent (that they actually never honored). So I moved units. I spent $200 and many hours of time on laundry + dump runs because I lost half my belongings to this infestation. "Luckily" we had both been subjected to paying for "insurance" since the switch so we filed our claims with photos and written statements. My partners insurance claim was immediately rejected without reason. He left and took what was salvagable from his unit. My claim was never filed or so they say; I found this out after 6 months of actively trying to call the customer service and going into the office, where anyone I had talked to said "someone will contact you" or "we'll send you an email to follow up". Finally a girl in the office said she would email me a link to upload my photos to finish the claim, the email that came to me had a link to a page that needed admin login + password. My logins associated with US Storage Centers didn't work. I called and called to try to get the correct link. They have been unresponsive for months now. Or if I do get an answer, i am redirected or told I will get a call back...which never happens. I finally just moved out and all 6 times I went to my unit to move, the office was closed or the "be back soon" sign was in the window all during office hours. I even waited once for an hour but no one showed up. They weren't in the yard either. Not sure what's going on but i would NOT RECOMMEND STORING HERE. The whole place is majorly neglected. There are rat and mouse droppings and piss all over my belongings. The bathroom is rarely clean, stocked or free of trash. They just raised the rent again. I'm now storing elsewhere and it's massively better, cheaper and cleaner...plus people actually work there and answer calls. While it's convenient that US Storage Centers is in Sebastopol, just drive the extra 12 minutes to Santa Rosa and store there. It will be better.
I’ve had a great experience with this storage facility. The property is always clean, secure, and well-maintained, and the staff has been incredibly friendly and helpful from day one. Heather was especially awesome, she went above and beyond to make the whole process easy and stress-free.She genuinely cares about customers and provides outstanding service. I really appreciate how safe and accessible everything feels, and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for reliable storage!
The angel in the office walked us through our first time renting a storage space. The prices are reasonable, and the space is pristine. After 30 years, they’ve never had a break-in. I feel that my treasures are safe with US storage centers.
One Star – Poorly Maintained, Poorly Managed, and No Longer Secure In the year or so since US Storage took over what was previously South Point Storage in Sebastopol, the facility’s care, cleanliness, and security have declined dramatically. The attached photos were taken during the seven days I spent moving out, but they reflect the facility’s general condition over the past year: mouse / mice feces, layers of dust, cobwebs in every corner, and debris hanging from light fixtures. The place feels neglected—more like an abandoned building than a professionally managed storage facility. One of the most frustrating issues has been the complete lack of response to concerns. I called multiple times, only to be told by the call center that someone from the location would get back to me or that things would be addressed. No one ever followed up. Nothing ever changed. Based on this experience, I wouldn’t recommend this location—or any other US Storage facility. Security has also taken a hit. They are no longer alarming individual units. Instead, they seem to be shifting responsibility onto renters. I was never directly notified about a mouse infestation—instead, I was sent a notice requiring me to purchase insurance from them for an additional $12 per month. That policy only covers up to $2,500 worth of damage. Most people store far more than that, and this tactic feels like a way to sidestep accountability rather than prevent or address the issue. To make matters worse, maintenance is now only performed once a month—down from five days a week—and it shows. The elevator was non functional 5 of the 7 days while I was trying to move out and the last 2 days it was in functional disrepair with a 1+ inch difference between the elevator floor and the upstairs facility floor. Bottom line: this facility is no longer clean, safe, or responsibly managed.
I came in after making a reservation online, feeling unsure about what size unit I needed or how the process worked. Heather at the front desk was incredibly welcoming and patient. She took the time to walk and drive me to several different units so I could see my options in person, and she answered all my questions, no matter how small, without ever making me feel embarrassed or rushed. Her kindness and professionalism really stood out. She explained everything clearly, helped me figure out the best fit, and even assisted with a prorated rent to make things more affordable. The whole experience was smooth and stress-free thanks to her thoughtful approach. Customer service like this makes a huge difference. Heather turned what could’ve been a confusing errand into a genuinely pleasant part of my day. Thank you for your help and for treating me with such care!
