Clean & climate controlled! I kept two side-by-side units for almost a year. Every contract I had with staff (which was only 3 times) was pleasant & very helpful. During the relatively short time I was there I received 2 notices about rent increases. The first one was only a few bucks a month, but the second one was almost a 100% increase! I contacted the facility & worked with someone (I don’t recall his name, but it could have been Ty). I explained that I was on a fixed income & only expected to be in the units for about 2 more months & asked if they could work with me on the rate. The young man explained that they periodically compare their rates to other similar facilities in the area & adjust their rates to stay in line with those, but that he would “do some calculating” to see what he could do for me. He called me back the next day to advise that he could make my increase around only $20/month instead of the notified increase which was going to be somewhere closer to $110/month. I’m so glad I made that call instead of having my usual knee-jerk reaction which would have been to move everything out earlier than planned & then have to move it all a 2nd time only a couple of months later! My last contract was with Ty who processed my move-out notice. Ty was super friendly & took care of everything on his end by the end of that same day. Even with the rate increases, I was still very pleased with the whole experience, the cleanliness & security of this place & I would recommend it!

Our experience with Lenexa Location was a wonderful one. We had the option of renting online but we opted to stop in to see the space for ourselves. The manager was very welcoming and took his time to explain the rental terms and lease agreement. He also walked us back and showed us how to operate the lock as we were newbies to storage locks. We lived the security of this facility and the app allowed us easy access to the gate and managing our account. Very clean facility. Would recommend this location to anyone needing a temporary storage spot. They even have a spot big enough for 3 cars!

Matthew was great at explaining the options and setting us up. He was polite and professional showing us everything and how the storage units work and lock. We found Extra Space to be a good value and very clean. We are confident our belongings will be safe here.

Ty is absolutely excellent. He’s been with the business for a few years, and my fiancée and I have rented from Extra Space for nearly a year. We’ve interacted with Ty 2 or 3 different times, and he’s been kind, prudent and proactive. He’s assisted with unruly tenants, when they were out of turn, and had Angela moved from a locker near my fiancée’s, when Angela was aggressive towards her and me. McKenna and I greatly appreciate you Ty. The units are decent, prices are good and it’s only a short drive from Johnson County Community College’s WestGate entrance and Minsky’s. Keep up the great work Ty, we thank you for your service. Due to Site Manager Matthew West's asperger syndrome, this rating has been changed. He continues to fail in the line of duty as site manager; and causes severe problems with tenants. He has an unapproachable attitude, one that provokes discord and has caused us to no longer be willing to rent from Extra Space. There is an excellent storage facility right up the road known as Cube Smart. Matthew West, twists and lies about interactions regarding client-management at this Extra Storage site at 10800 Pflumm, in KS. Misrepresenting interactions has been experienced at least twice now, while dealing with Mr. West. I personally recommend others take their business elsewhere, as I am taking my business to Cube smart, as priorly stated in this review. Honey Pritchett, Extra Space's responding DM, who may correct Mr. West's behavior, is why this review has been upgraded from a 1 star review, to a 2 star review, for there are 2 seemingly star players at this location: Mr. Tyrel and Ms. Honey. Thank you to you both, however due to the bad egg, we are and will be taking our business to CubeSmart. The services of Extra Space will be greatly missed.
