Rented a unit earlier this year at a rate of $99 (not including the mandatory insurance they make you pay of $15). Two business days ago I needed a bigger unit and based on their arbitrary pricing, it was less expensive to get another unit, the same size instead of a bigger unit. The reason, they said, the unit that is the same size was now cheaper is based off availability. We got the unit at approximately $30 less than what I’m currently paying. Today, again, two business days later, I get a notice for my original unit that it is going up another $10 due to availability. When I question this and explained my frustration, they said they try to keep the rate increases reasonable, but they do have them at least once a year. Meaning, you can get a unit and anytime your rate can go up and they can decide how much. The introductory rate is just to get you in the door. Bait and switch… Beware! Go somewhere that has a contract where they cannot raise your rate mid-year.

I had been a client for only 7 months I had my travel trailer parked on site. Over the holiday I went to put my cover on my trailer to discover both my 2 propane tanks along with my 2 batteries had been stolen. There are no security cameras around the premises except at the main gate. The gate was also an issue which I had experienced multiple times not be operational over the summer causing an inconvenience. After the discovery of my stolen property hilariously checking my home mail I get a letter from the facility that they were raising my rent hopefully they use these raised rent fees to purchase cameras and a full time functioning gate. If you plan on renting here using a storage locker you may be fine because your stuff is locked up but if your planning on leaving a trailer or anything parked outside good luck thinking you property is safe. You may find yourself in my predicament along with the response of “call your insurance “. Now that this is out corporate will respond below with some FAKE apology. Don’t be fooled by their apology read other reviews apparently I’m not the only one that has dealt with theft here.

We have used Shield storage in Bernalillo 2 different times. Both times their prices were the best and it was easy to setup online without having to go into the office. The facility is always very clean and secure. 👍🏽👍🏽😊

They were polite, always helpful. Although I wish after you have been there so long they would give senior citizens a break on price. I don't truly understand the insurance I have to pay but have no choice at this time.
