The location is very convenient and the facility is clean and well-lit. The process to choose and rent a storage unit could not have been easier.
Ed, the manager at my unit is wonderful. However, the policy of not taking a deposit to reserve a unit and then selling the unit to the first person who walks in the door is terrible. I arrived at the Preston rd. Unit in Far N. Dallas the day I had a reservation to start the rent and my unit was sold to some one else during the time period that I had looked at it and that day. This is an awful practice. This is how I ended up with Ed. at the Plano Parkway location.
was met by a very professional lady. everything was easy. our storage unit was well lit and very clean. i would use public storage whenever the need for storage is needed.

★☆☆☆☆ — Extremely Disappointed Customer I’ve been a loyal customer of this Public Storage location for 4 years, and the service has gone completely downhill. I’ve been trying for months to get into another unit that was supposed to be repaired, but every time I call, I’m met with excuses and false promises. When my garage door had been blown off by the wind last year I had to put the door on the track myself since their vendors never show up. Becky even hung up on me while pretending to be nice — completely unprofessional. I’m currently being charged nearly $808/month for a unit that new customers can rent for around $300. They gave me a $20 discount last 3-4 months 🤣🤣🤣🤣 That’s outrageous and feels like a scam. No one is ever available to actually help; they just brush you off or act like they care while doing nothing. This place is a rip-off run with shady practices. Avoid this location at all costs. Self storage at its finest. Monday we will be reporting public storage to BBB.
Brandi, was so great to work with. Very friendly and very helpful. I leased two units with her in the past month. She went over and above in helping me. She is what customer service is all about. Can’t find many people as great as Brandi anymore. Kevin
TLDR These people are unwilling to interact with their customers in a positive manner. They routinely hang up on people and don’t call people back. Being asked to do their job or basic clerical work to ensure things are properly run will result in getting an earful from them or hung up on. If you call them on their BS over the phone, they will just hang up on you. I had to threaten police involvement for them to make a reasonable action. These people have been incredibly rude and condescending every time I’ve spoken with them. A few months ago, I unfortunately had some financial problems and regrettably went delinquent on my payment. It didn’t help that they also jacked my rate up around that time. I understand the consequences are that my items went to auction, but before they went to auction, I called and Tried to ensure they had accurate details in case they still required payment after and had to hand things off to collections. Last thing I want is something affecting my credit because I never received some mail.. I had to repeatedly call because the older man who answered kept hanging up on me. I have explained that in case my items went to collection and I still owed anything that I wanted to make sure they had the Proper address on file for a collections letter. The guy said, “just pay your damn balance,” And hung up. I did not have the money despite working constantly on Uber To barely be able to afford auto insurance, gas, and my Barr essentials. I just wanted to make sure my credit didn’t get all jacked up in case a collections letter was sent to the wrong address. I had to call this guy three more times for him to finally do his job and as it turns out, they had outdated information. This guy wasn’t the only one who was argumentative and combative when I simply wanted to get information. There was a separate instance after the first nonpayment when I had successfully use my public storage app to access the facility. I was clearly on camera using my app and able to access said facility. No one was right behind me and I didn’t follow anybody in. I went to my unit, which didn’t have a lock on it and I was able to grab a couple of my things that I was trying to sell to literally pay for this unit. When I tried to leave, my app didn’t work all of a sudden. I went inside to ask for assistance since I had to get to work, and after providing my information, she said there was no possible way I could’ve gotten inside without breaking in. I again explained that the app worked to get in, but didn’t work to get out. I said the exact time I had arrived and that she could easily check the security cameras and verify it. She refused to be reasonable and just do her dang job. . She called someone about her and instead of having them review security footage, she was immediately making it sound like I had broken in like a criminal. Only after threatening to call the cops to get this matter sorted did her boss finally tell her to let me leave. I don’t like to involve police, but considering I was heading to work that day and I had scheduled meet ups to sell my things, she was going to cost me money.
Five Stars for Brittni! I’m usually disappointed with my experiences at Public Storage, but Brittni completely changed that. From the moment I walked in, she was incredibly friendly, helpful, and genuinely kind. She made me feel heard and supported right away. Brittni went above and beyond to answer all my questions and resolve my concerns with such a positive attitude. It’s rare to come across someone who truly takes pride in providing excellent customer service, and it really showed. Public Storage is lucky to have her—she turned what I expected to be a stressful visit into a smooth and uplifting one. Thank you, Brittni!
